Rubrics taken for Repertorisation and reportorial chart – RECURRENT WART – table 1

Reportorial Chart and rubrics (Image 2)

Only one rubric was taken on the basis of appearance of warts as every time it came up at the same site with same features.

Treatment: The treatment was started by giving Lycopodium 10 m and patient reported fall of wart over telephonic conversation. After 4 weeks, when patient reported no further improvement lycopodium 50 m /1 dose was given. All the warts got cured completely in 3 months and there is no recurrence till date. The patient was regularly followed up to see any recurrence for over 3 years now

Plan: The patient had already taken Homeopathic treatment from various other homeopathic doctors and had taken most commonly used warts medicines. He only had partial knowledge of medicines and was not able to remember all the medicines he had taken.

It was planned to decide upon on the simillimum and give it in higher dose

Follow up: Patient was evaluated every fortnight, to assess the improvement. Patient started getting relief at the start of treatment, hence it was decided to continue with the decided plan of treatment. Since he started showing improvement with the first dose, he was given the same medicine in higher dose. To date patient remains well and no relapse reported since 3 years of completing the treatment.

Discussion: This case had very few individualizing symptoms and hardly any subjective symptom. Lycopodium is present in many rubrics of warts but there is hardly mention of it in skin section of various materia medica. So, the rubric covering the totality was taken and the medicine was given.

Conclusion: Warts are commonly encountered problems in OPDs and every homeopath must know how to treat them. In the absence of medical treatment, the patient is left with no choice but to turn to cauterization of the warts. . Proper homeopathic treatment not only relieves the complaint but also gives long lasting relief from the disease.
