Abstract: Covid 19 cases are increasing day by day. COVID 19 positive/corona patients are looking for safe and alternative treatment mainly because of absence of any definite treatment in the field of allopathy apart from symptomatic management. Here is one such case of a doctor, who showed much improvement from homeopathic treatment after trying various allopathic treatment without any changes in symptoms. The case emphasizes the need to use homeopathy as an effective alternative treatment for covid 19 positive cases so that more and more people can be benefited from use of Homeopathy.
Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. ‘CO’ stands for corona, ‘VI’ for virus, and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as ‘2019 novel coronavirus’ or ‘2019-nCoV.’ It causes mild to severe respiratory illness. The virus has affected about 12 million people worldwide. More than 500000 patients have died worldwide from this virus till now.
Risk factors: Around 1 in every 5 people who are infected with COVID-19 develop difficulty in breathing and require hospital care. People who are aged over 60 years, and people who have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease or hypertension are among those who are at greater risk.
Symptoms: According to a study the most common symptoms among people who were hospitalized with COVID-19 include:
- Fever: 99%
- Fatigue:70%
- A dry cough: 59%
- Loss of appetite: 40%
- Body aches: 35%
- Shortness of breath: 31%
- Mucus or phlegm: 27%
Other symptoms may include: Sore throat, Headache, Chills, Loss of smell or taste, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea
Emergency Symptoms include: Trouble breathing, constant pain or pressure in your chest, Bluish lips or face, sudden confusion
Present case: A male patient of 32 years presented with
- 1 fever since 7days
- 2 cough since 7 days
The patient came down with fever 6 days back and cough started at the same time. Since he was working in high risk setup for corona, he went into self –isolation and got himself checked for covid -19. Meanwhile he started taking antibiotics. After 5 days there was no relief in symptom
- Fever: “meri tabyat lunchtime ke baad kaharb hoti” (my condition worsens after lunchtime) and my temperature starts rising.
- Thirst: increased
- Prefers warm food and drinks
- Cough: Dry with fever, increases in the evening after the temperature rises.
Thermal reaction: hot
Mental Generals: felt insulted after he got into verbal scuffle with a neighbor a day before falling ill.
Diagnosis: Covid-19 positive

Treatment:
After repertorisation,
- Lycopodium 200 was given.
- Patient felt aggravation of symptoms after taking medicine and all symptoms got better the next morning. No fever in last 6 days
Patient continued to have dry cough and increased thirst with dryness of mouth.
He was given Bryonia alba 30, 4 times a day for 3 days.
Patient was absolutely fine in 7 days after starting homeopathic treatment.
Plan: to give medicine on the acute totality
Follow up: Patient was evaluated every alternate days, to assess the improvement. Patient started having change in symptoms, new acute totality was taken and was prescribed accordingly.
Discussion: The case was treated as any other acute case, while considering the acute totality

Conclusion: There is much panic and anxiety surrounding the corona cases. The homeopath should concentrate on getting the acute totality and treat it like any other acute case.
