Abstract: Covid 19 cases are cause of worry for physicians and patients alike, with many cases in hospitals and home isolation. Here is one such case of a Pharmacist, who got cured from homeopathic treatment without any allopathic treatment in home isolation. The case once again emphasizes the effectiveness of homeopathy in treatment of covid 19 positive cases. There is a widespread evidence about effectiveness of alternative medicine systems like homeopathy in containing an epidemic situation and preventing its spread.
Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. ‘CO’ stands for corona, ‘VI’ for virus, and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as ‘2019 novel coronavirus’ or ‘2019-nCoV.’ Approximately 80% of the cases of corona are mild.
Risk factors: Around 1 in every 5 people who are infected with COVID-19 develop difficulty in breathing and require hospital care. Others get better in home isolation with little medical assistance. People who are aged over 60 years, and people who have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease or hypertension are among those who are at greater risk and may require hospitalization.
Symptoms:
Mild symptoms
- Low-grade fever (not more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Dry cough
- Fatigue
- Sore throat
- Headache
- New loss of taste and smell
Moderate symptoms
- Fever of about 101-102 degrees Fahrenheit
- Chills, with repeated shaking
- Deep cough
- Fatigue and body aches
- Muscle pain
- General feeling of being unwell
Present case: A male patient of 35 years presented with
1 Cough since 3 days
The patient came down with cough 3 days back after sleeping on the floor in front of a desert cooler, one day back. He felt nose was blocked, which subsided in 2 days. Since, he is a health worker and a co- worker tested positive few days back, he went into self –isolation. He got himself checked for covid -19 and his report came positive

Treatment: After repertorisation, Bryonia was given.He was given Bryonia alba 30, 2 times a day for 4 days. Patient was absolutely fine in 4 days after starting homeopathic treatment.
Plan: To give medicine on the acute totality
Follow up: Patient was evaluated every alternate days, to assess the improvement.
Discussion: The case was treated as any other acute case, while considering the acute totality. In Lectures on homeopathic materia medica, J T Kent says,
Bryonia alba: The complaints come on after taking cold, not the first few hours, as in aconite and bell but the day after Or at night a chill will come on, with much pain in chest, rusty expectoration, short, dry cough and other symptoms that will be spoken of under Bryonia later, showing that the trouble is going towards the chest.
With slow onset of symptoms and symptoms moving towards chest, bryonia alba was chosen for the patient.
Conclusion: There is much panic and anxiety surrounding the corona cases. The homeopath should concentrate on getting the acute totality and treat it like any other acute case. Homeopathy can be very helpful in cases of home isolation and isolation centers. The use of homeopathic medicine not only delays the progress of the disease but also decreases the severity of symptoms.
